| After the university (Department of music and theatre, Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, La Sapienza University Rome) and musical studies (Experimental composition and electronic music S.Cecilia Conservatory Rome), he took a diploma in acting at the International School of the Actor by Alessandro Fersen and a diploma in direction at the National Academy of Cinematography in Bologna by Piero Lombardi. Between 1986 and 1990, he worked as an actor at Ateneo Theatre in Rome together with P. Stein, P. Brook and Quartucci, and he took part in “Trilogia Pirandelliana” at Argentina Theatre in Rome under the direction of G. Patroni Griffi. Between 1989 and 1991, he worked as a director at Rome’s applied-science faculty producing works by Goldoni, Ionesco, Gogol, Shakespeare. Between 1997 and 2002, he directed “Caddish” by Renato Chiesa together with Clasterensemble - Zandonai Theatre in Rovereto, which was broadcast live by Radio Rai and recorded by RaiTre; he took part in numerous editions of “Pierrot Lunaire” by A. Schoenberg, “L’Opera da tre soldi” by Brecht/Weil. In 2009 he directed “Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi at the Roman Theatre of Ostia Antica and “Ballata di Za La Mort” by Massimo Mirani. He has been the assistant of Mario Costa at the University of Salerno (Aesthetics) since 1990, and has also joined the Research Group dealing with the Aesthetics of Communication. Because of his high competences on the aesthetics of music, Mario Costa entrusted him the section dedicated to the Sound at ARTMEDIA International Convention promoted by the same university (X edition, Paris, December 2008). He has been the Artistic Director of CIVITAFESTIVAL since 1993 and the Artistic Director of Sant’Oreste Municipal Theatre since 2006. He has been the Artistic Director of the SUMMER NATIONAL LYRICAL CIRCUIT promoted by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage since 2008. |
