Ian Sutton was born in Preston, Great Britain. He has specialized in dance theatre since the 80s (he studied in Rome and New York – competition announcement at Cunningham Studio). He was a choreographer for Vera Stasi (one of the most important personalities in dance theatre, who often draws inspiration from literary works) with whom he performed in important festivals both in Italy and abroad. He took a  diploma as Feldenkrais teacher in 1998.
He attended a post-degree course in theatrical pedagogy at Silvio D’Amico Academy in Rome. He attended courses by Alessio Bergamo and seminaries by Vasil’ev, which played a fundamental role for the subsequent development of its approach to the Russian School.
He studied physical dramaturgy, instant composition, both individual and group creative training and text analysis.
He has recently worked as (2008-9) a choreographer together with Alicja Ziolko di Anarcotango and has developed the so-called Monotango project by Alicja Ziolko, which was financed by Norway. He acted in Stati di Ubiquità (Internet Theatre) by Emiliano Campagnola, which was presented to Teatri di Vetro Festival (Rome) and was a trainer for the actors of The Island of Slaves by Federica Tatulli.
